Our documentary BROKEN CAR IS BROKEN HEART is supported by FFF Bayern

In this film we want to get to know three "start helpers" in three countries of the former Soviet Union: Ukraine, Armenia and Russia. In three parallel stories, we portray very different protagonists who, each in their own way, are working for a better future: There is war in eastern Ukraine. Workshop owner Andrey (45) is trying with difficulty and hardship to manage a new start in the shattered Slaviansk. Through his work he helps to restore a minimum of mobility, without which there can be no reconstruction. In Armenia, Aik (38) wants to use the moderate economic upswing to finally get the family workshop in shape and start a family. In Moscow, Daria (30) is fighting against sexist prejudices. As one of very few women she runs her own repair shop, blogs, gives interviews and thus encourages other women to fight for equality and to go their own way.
